The New Dimension
“Every sound, regardless of the scale in dynamics, is being played precisely, I would say extraordinary maturely and reliably, accurately. When I listened to a large symphonic composition playing Bach’s music, the sound which reached to my ears was almost decomposed into prime factors, but at the same time creating an inseparable, coherent whole.
The F-200 is dosing the music in a precise way, so the truth in the recordings can be heard without any colorations.
But special attention should be paid on the fact that Taga Harmony sensationally separates the sound and characteristics of individual virtual sound sources that is the vocals and instruments located on the large soundstage…
..the F-200 was able to show the tonal characteristics and complexity of specific instruments and the vocals on their background.
It looks as if despite the simultaneous playback of many virtual sound sources the Diamond F-200 was able to recognize the individual nature of each of them, while maintaining the consistency of the soundstage.
This is a very rare feature, basically present only in the best constructions in the top price range. The bass range is played in a tight way, and subsonic rumblings appear only if they are registered in the recording…
The range of midrange frequencies is truly high-end, that is free, open, saturated as it should be when you play particular music – the strings sound naturally and clearly, indeed Taga Harmony feels great with the classical music.
The range of treble frequencies performed by the titanium dome are delicate like in the best ribbon tweeters, yet it is sophisticated in terms of the proper weight and diversity in the dynamics contrast.
The upper registers seamlessly fit in the mids, accompany them, but at the same time never stand over.”
Verdict
“The exceptional cultural sound with extra-large reserve in dynamics and low extended, punctual, contoured, fast bass. It perfectly distinguishes the sound nature of individual instruments and vocals. The big sound with the extensive stereo.“
Reference class sound
Tested by “STEREO I KOLOROWO underground” at the Audio Video Show in Warsaw during an unusual music session.
A Canadian cellist Mr. Vincent Bélanger was playing cello live, performing tracks from the newest album Bélanger & Bisson “Conversations” (XLO 25th Anniversary Edition, Universal Music Canada – 2016) while TAGA Harmony high-end stereo system was reproducing Mrs. Anne Bisson vocals and other instruments from the album.
Listening
“The TAGA Harmony set provided very euphonious, energetic and malleable sound with great stereo and superior space. There was an illusion of participating in a live concert. This phenomenon was reinforced by the dense and analytical sound of the Diamond F-200 speakers and the high physicality of the HTA-2000B amplifier, which dynamism seemed to have no limitations. At the time when Vincent Bélanger pulled out the fiddlestick and began to move it on the cello strings, it was hard to distinguish the sound played by the speakers from this being played live. The amazing thing.
Vincent prepared about a 30 minute concert, played a variety of pieces from the “Conversations”, he impressed us with different playing styles on the cello and flirted with the audience using his virtuosity. However, it was impossible to distinguish the real cello music from the background played by the speakers. This demonstrates very high values of the TAGA Harmony Diamond F-200 speakers, because the high-end is considered to be such a system, which plays genuinely “live”.”
GOOD – VERY GOOD (REFERENCE CLASS)
PRECISE INSTRUMENT
Laboratory & Praxis
“In our laboratory the Taga F-200 confirmed our assumptions regarding its efficiency. It reaches 90 decibels at 2.83 volts in the critical midrange – and with absolutely negligible distortion values. On the other hand, the high frequency range is slightly reserved – in view of the excellent omnidirectional behavior, it is the right idea…
…A big sized box with the woofers and bassreflex tubes located over a half meter apart, should be interpreted with some caution, what TAGA proves in the listening room: yes, the bass seems to be slim in a regular setup, but extremely agile and free of all the rumbles and resonances. It makes the F-200 almost unique among other loudspeakers in this weight category – it enables the installation close to the walls, and that is why it is suitable for listening rooms with the floor space which does not allow the installation of such large boxes.
In the mid and high frequency range, Taga leaves nothing behind: agile, highly dynamic and with the extreme precision, it draws a detailed sound image around the room, scores highly with excellent room imaging in terms of the width and depth and always lets the volume control to move as far to the right as if touched by a magician hand – such greatly malleable and lifelike rendering puts a spell on the audience.
As I said: the bass is crisp and, if the material demands it, present in full range. One can “adjust” the tonal balance of the F-200 by experimenting with the distance to the back wall…“
Conclusion
“The Diamond F-200 demonstrates a lot higher quality level than Taga a few years ago: at a fair price, there is an excellent appearance and workmanship quality, combined with an excellent sound and overall fit, which finally also corresponds to the realities in a real living room. Well done, Taga!“
Short and sweet:
+ Very good workmanship
+ Dynamic sound image
+ Very good room space
